Exceptional original DECAUVILLE mine cart coffee table from the 1920’s with a riveted cast-iron structure and a security glass top. The DECAUVILLE company was founded in 1875 in France by Paul Decauville, and manufactured track elements, engines and cars for the railway and automobile industries. “Decauville's major innovation was the use of ready-made sections of light, narrow gauge track fastened to steel sleepers; this track was portable and could be disassembled and transported very easily.” The timeless appearance of this coffee table will lend a bit of history to your home and will also provide a focal point to just about any room in the house.
